Utility-scale wind for Montana's high plains

Foundation Windpower's Northwestern Energy project in Greenfield, Montana stands as one of the company's largest installations to date — a 22 MW wind facility delivering 81,000 MWh of clean electricity annually to the regional grid.

Located in the high plains of central Montana, the Greenfield site benefits from the consistent, strong winds that make the region one of the most productive wind corridors in the American West. The project offsets more than 59,000 tons of carbon per year — the equivalent of powering over 9,100 homes.

The project reflects Foundation Windpower's expanding reach beyond California into utility-scale wind development across the broader western United States, bringing the same turnkey expertise — site assessment, permitting, construction, and commissioning — to larger regional energy partners.
